Browse Brawley People Directories

People directories serving Brawley are spread across city rosters, school staff pages, county records, state license tools, and historical library channels. A useful Brawley directory search starts by matching the person to the kind of public trail they would leave: an official work contact, a school role, a recorded property document, a professional license, a business filing, or an early newspaper mention. Browse Brawley directories with that split in mind, because no single source lists every resident or every past name.

Brawley People Directory Map

Brawley does not have one all-purpose people directory. The city publishes public-facing municipal contacts, Imperial County keeps most county records in El Centro, school systems publish staff directories, and California agencies run statewide license and business lookups. Historical work is different again: early names may appear in newspapers, yearbooks, city or telephone directories, recorded documents, and genealogy collections rather than in a current web roster.

Current Brawley people directories are strongest for public roles and official contacts. Property and court sources behave like directories when they let a name lead to documents or case numbers, but they are record indexes with access limits. Historical directory work should be treated as a research chain, not a promise that a single volume covers every year.

Brawley Government Directory Rosters

The City of Brawley publishes people information across several official pages rather than through one citywide staff search. The Brawley City Clerk page lists City Clerk Ana Gutierrez with City Hall contact details. The City Council roster lists elected officials by role, term, phone, email link, and biography panel. The Human Resources page lists HR staff with name, title, address, phone, fax, and email, while city department pages identify public safety and senior department contacts.

County government adds another layer for Brawley. The Imperial County Planning & Development Services staff directory lists department heads and planning staff, including names, roles, and the planning contact phone. That county roster matters for Brawley addresses near jurisdiction lines, zoning questions, and public planning records held outside City Hall. For records access procedures beyond directory browsing, the custodian split is covered in the Brawley public records page.

Brawley School Staff Directories

Education directories are among the clearest Brawley people directories because the search tools are built for names and public work contacts. The Brawley Union High School District staff directory lets a user filter staff by name and shows role, phone, and email fields. The Brawley Union High School campus page adds teachers, counselors, attendance staff, and other campus contacts. The Brawley Elementary School District staff directory works the same way, with roles, phone extensions, and message links where direct email is not exposed.

The BUHSD source screenshot shows the staff search page used for Brawley directory lookups: Brawley Union High School District staff directory.

That page is useful when the known clue is a school role, district email, campus phone extension, or current school affiliation rather than a home address.

The BESD manifest image is from the elementary district staff directory: Brawley Elementary School District staff directory.

BESD entries documented in the research include staff names, roles, phone extensions, and message actions, which makes the district page a practical current directory for school-related contacts.

The county education office is a separate directory source: Imperial County Office of Education staff directory.

ICOE is broader than Brawley, but its table of names, positions, and phone numbers can identify county education staff connected to Brawley schools and regional education services.

Brawley Records as Directories

Some of the best Brawley people directories are not labeled as directories. Imperial County RecorderWorks is a grantor-grantee index for recorded documents. It states online coverage for property documents recorded since 1986, and it searches by name, document number, book/page, recording date, document type, and map. Its name search expects a last-name, comma, first-name pattern, allows partial matching, and separates grantor and grantee roles.

The useful directory behavior appears after a document opens. The research found that a user can click a name from the document page and list documents tied to that person by document type and recording date. That makes RecorderWorks a person-centered directory of recorded legal events: deeds, liens, notices, trust documents, affidavits of heirship, transfer-on-death deeds, probate-related certificates, and other recorded papers. Older material still requires the Clerk-Recorder office, archives, microfilm, or copy workflow because the public online statement is 1986 forward.

Local number to remember. RecorderWorks states a 1986 online start for Imperial County grantor-grantee property documents, so older Brawley property names need an office or archive path.

The Imperial County Assessor MBAP search is different. It acts more like an address or parcel directory than a verified owner-name search. The visible tabs are Fee Parcel, Assessment, Street Address, Boat, CF#, Aircraft, and Tail#. The Assessor help says address searches may work better when street suffixes are omitted and direction words are shortened to N, E, S, or W. If a name is the only clue, RecorderWorks is the better property-document starting point.

Brawley Professional Directory Lookups

Statewide professional directories are important for Brawley because many public-facing license records are kept by California regulators, not the city. The California Department of Consumer Affairs License Search covers many boards and bureaus, with status and discipline indicators where available. In local terms, that can matter for health care, barbering and cosmetology, automotive repair, pharmacy, veterinary work, security services, engineering, fiduciary work, and other licensed services common in a regional agricultural and service economy.

Contractor records use a separate official directory. The manifest image comes from CSLB Check a License.

CSLB supports searches by contractor license number, business name, contractor personnel name, salesperson registration number, and salesperson name, which makes it both a business directory and a person-name directory for construction-related records.

Attorney records use the State Bar Attorney Search, shown in the assigned Brawley people directories image.

The State Bar search has one notable name-search tip from the research: extended characters may need plain-letter equivalents, so a surname with an accent should also be tried without the accent.

Brawley Business and Property Directories

Business directories split between state and county sources. California SOS bizfile Online is the state path for corporations, LLCs, limited partnerships, agents for service of process, entity status, and filed statements where available. Imperial County fictitious business name records are local to the Clerk-Recorder. The research found the FBN filing channel, identity requirements, and publication rules, but did not capture a fully verified public FBN search interface. That means county FBNs should be treated as a Clerk-Recorder channel rather than a guaranteed self-service directory.

Property directories require the same care. RecorderWorks is name-based for recorded property documents and can tie Brawley people to deeds, liens, notices, trustee documents, tax liens, probate-related instruments, and affidavits. Assessor MBAP is better for an address, fee parcel, or assessment number. Imperial County Planning GIS maps can add zoning and General Plan context, but Planning warns users to contact a planner for current and accurate information.

Grantor
The party giving, selling, transferring, or otherwise granting an interest in a recorded document.
Grantee
The party receiving that interest, such as a buyer, lender, trustee, or beneficiary listed in the index.
APN
An assessor parcel number used to identify land for tax and assessment records.
Situs address
The physical property location, which may differ from the mailing address for notices or tax bills.

RecorderWorks also has a Brawley-specific quirk worth using in directory research: its document-type list includes more than deeds. Captured options include ANNEXATION-CITY, CEMETERY MAP, AFFIDAVIT OF HEIRSHIP, WATER LICENSE, CHANGE OF NAME - CITY, CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION, and Imperial Irrigation-related agreement types. Those labels can connect a person to civic history, land, estates, public boundaries, or water-related records.

Historical Brawley Directories

Historical Brawley people directories are strongest through library and newspaper channels. The California State Library Genealogy Hub confirms city and telephone directories, vital, tax, voting, property records, military and business registries, local histories, and periodicals as genealogy resource categories. The research did not find exact Brawley Polk, city-directory, telephone-directory, or reverse-directory year holdings. That gap should stay explicit: ask the California State Library, local libraries, or regional academic libraries for Brawley and Imperial Valley directory holdings instead of assuming a year range.

The historical timeline for Brawley explains why newspapers can matter as much as a directory volume. Imperial County was organized in 1907, and the City of Brawley was incorporated in 1908 after agricultural settlement had already begun. The 1905 Brawley newspaper holding predates incorporation, so it may capture names before the city government record trail matured.

  1. 1905: State-level vital registration begins in California, and The Brawley News and Imperial Valley News microfilm holding captures an early local paper run.
  2. 1907: Imperial County is organized, creating the county layer that later holds most Brawley land, court, voter, and vital-record channels.
  3. 1908: Brawley incorporates, adding city rosters, council records, municipal clerk records, and local administrative records.
  4. 1986: RecorderWorks states online grantor-grantee coverage for Imperial County recorded property documents begins.
  5. 2017: Imperial Superior Court identifies November 2017 as the current case-management system start for downloadable public court documents.

Note: No official Brawley city-directory year run was verified, so the safe historical path is library inquiry plus newspapers and county records.

What Is Not a Brawley Directory

Some name sources should not be treated like open people directories. California voter records are the clearest example. The voter file is available only to authorized requestors and permitted uses under Elections Code sections 2188 and 2194. It excludes driver's license numbers, state ID numbers, SSN fragments, signatures, confidential voter records, and preregistration records for minors. The individual My Voter Status tool is a self-lookup, not a public directory for browsing other people.

Court records also have directory limits. Imperial Superior Court has a public case-number lookup, but name searches require an account and fee and return case numbers and filing dates. Confidential, sealed, juvenile, and some family or protective case records are not public in the same way. The Clerk-Recorder is not the court clerk; it records documents affecting title and other official records, while civil and criminal proceedings route to Superior Court.

Commercial people-finder services should be checked against official records before relying on any match. Official Brawley people directories and Imperial County records are narrower, but they show who keeps the data, what search field was used, and which office can confirm a record.
